China-ASEAN Network Security Emergency Response Capacity Building Seminar was held in Qingdao

        Hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China and organized by the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team of China (CNCERT), the China-ASEAN Network Security Emergency Response Capacity Building Seminar was held in Qingdao from 22 to 24 May 2017, with almost 20 delegates present from national ICT authorities and CERTs of ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Director General HUANG Chengqing of CNCERT, Deputy Director General LIU Ziping of the Department of International Cooperation of MIIT and Vice Chair Muhammad Salman Saefuddin of ID-SIRTII/CC of Indonesia delivered speeches at the Opening Ceremony.

        As one of the key cooperation projects identified at the 11th ASEAN TELMIN with China in Brunei 2016, this Seminar mainly focuses on improving the cybersecurity emergency response capacity of both ASEAN and China, with extensive and deep exchange being conducted among delegates on such topics as new national cybersecurity challenges, cooperation across the cybersecurity community and technical training. During the event, ASEAN delegates were also invited to the 2017 CNCERT Annual Conference and the 2nd CNCERT International Cooperation Forum & FIRST Technical Colloquium. They said this Seminar was an event of richly-arranged agenda and thorough exchange, and was highly significant for both sides to achieve further practical cooperation.
