China-ASEAN Network Security Emergency Response Capacity Building Seminar Held in Chengdu

        The China-ASEAN Network Security Emergency Response Capacity Building Seminar was held in Chengdu, China on 24th – 26th May 2016. The seminar was hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) and co-organised by the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT/CC).It was attended by 29 delegates from the departments of telecommunications and CERTs in ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. Zheng Kai, Consultant from the Department of International Cooperation of MIIT, Liu Bochao, Consultant from the Bureau of Cybersecurity Administration of MIIT, Li Jia, Deputy Director from the Operation Department of CNCERT, and Nguyen Trong Duong, Director General of the Vietnam CERT gave their opening speech.

        The seminar was one of the most important joint projects that approved at the 10th China-ASEAN Telecommunications Ministers Meeting held in Vietnam in 2015, aiming to enhance the computer emergency response capacity of China and the ASEAN countries. Thoughts and views were exchanged on topics of the latest national cybersecurity challenges, the best practice of cybersecurity information sharing and the development of technology platforms. Meanwhile, the ASEAN delegates also were invited to attend the 2016 CNCERT Annual Conference. Through the broad topics, informative and wonderful communications that presented in the seminar, China and ASEAN delegates deepened the understanding of each other, which will be significant to the promotion of pragmatic cooperation among China and ASEAN countries.
